The challenge
Alfagift's previous network was decentralised by environment, which made it inefficient. It also needed to be ready to connect with another Alfa Group subsidiary as part of the retailer's international expansion.
What we did
- Designed and implemented a Google Cloud hub-and-spoke network architecture
- Centralised control and governance in a hub project, with isolated workloads in dedicated spoke projects
- Consolidated VPN tunnels into dedicated spokes instead of a separate connection per workload
- Built a single secure gateway for all spokes to reach on-premises and external services
- Structured it so each new country or entity connects by creating a dedicated spoke
